Happy New Years, Darlings!
One of my favourite treats to eat with my latte is a Starbucks Ginger Molasses cookie – however, I don’t often make the trip to Starbucks anymore! With two kids in tow and a strict budget – we’re frugal now! – so I abuse my Breville Keurig Coffee Machine at home and bake these cookies when I can!
These cookies are so delicious, and very similar to the kind you’ll find at Starbucks. They are HUGE with a delicious sugary crunch and a soft, melt in your mouth buttery cookie center. Make these for friends or family because it’s hard to resist them! Enjoy! View Post
Amsterdam is synonomous with many things: canals, coffeeshops*, architecture, red light districts, and bikes. If you’re a first timer in Amsterdam, you might get a little overwhelmed with all the traffic on the streets: cars, taxis, buses, motorcycles, scooters and bicycles take over the streets, and one step in the wrong lane may have you running back to the airport (or at least to the safety of your hotel).
The first time I visited Amsterdam I stepped in a few bike lanes, and realised that bikes will not stop for you. Oh no, you better jump out of the way, or be with someone with the sense to pull you out of the way. If you hear that ringing bell of a bicycle then it’s almost too late! View Post
I don’t think there’s any question as to what my favourite time of year is… it’s obviously Christmas! I adore Christmas trees and I’ve collected ornaments for years. This year we got a new (fake!) tree that’s flocked – that is, dusted with “snow”! Quite frankly, the “snow” is a pain in the butt when you’re setting it up, but it certainly gives the tree a wonderful winter-ey feel to it!
My Christmas tree has a general white, black & silver colour scheme to it, however this year I thought I’d be a bit ‘adventurous’ and add in some blue! If you look closely you’ll see some sparkly blue ornaments hanging about. Some of my favourite ornaments are the Eiffel tower and the Globe, both were from Pottery Barn a few years ago.
Every year I add a new dated ornament to the tree, but I still haven’t found one for this year! You’ll also see a variety of Starbucks ornaments on the tree – they are all different and I get a new one each year!
KindredOAK offers One of a Kind items for Hip Mamas and their Babes. I am very excited to share this company with you!
Paige Smith is Owner and CEO of Kindred OAK and Lead Designer of OAK clothing for little babes. After 9 years of retail and management experience, she found herself saying goodbye to start a new chapter with her husband and new babe. Having no professional training in sewing, designing, or business, she started her company with $200, an unhealthy amount of Dr. Pepper, a passion for creativity and desire to fill the void of fashionable children’s clothing in today’s market. In spare time, you’ll find her spending time with her family in the great backyard of Utah.
I adore buying handmade things for my home – knowing that someone has taken the time and effort into creating something for my home with their own hands, it makes the items a little more special. Shelley Jacobsen has created a beautiful line of handmade goods for the home with her Etsy shop: Jac & Jil.
There you will find beautiful pillow cases, tea towels and napkins – made from natural cotton and flour sack fabrics, dip dyed by hand in various colours. There’s something very effortlessly chic about Jac & Jil that I love. View Post
