36 Hours in Harrison Hot Springs

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Harrison Hot Springs for 36 hours – it’s the perfect quick getaway and just about an hour from the city of Vancouver, but it feels like it’s a million miles away! Harrison Hot Springs has been a place I’ve wanted to visit for so long and when the opportunity came along in the form of a blogger retreat hosted by the fabulous Connie with StartUpMoms.co, how could I resist?

Scenic Boat Tours at Harrison Hot Springs

Taking a scenic boat tour on Harrison Lake is the perfect way to start your getaway. Harrison Lake is the largest lake in the Southern Coast Mountains of Canada, and boarding a yacht to take in its’ breathtaking beauty is simply amazing. Shoreline Tours provides lake cruises on their 62-foot Laroan, complete with sightseeing decks, a BBQ grill, full kitchen and indoor dining area, it’s the best way to see Harrison Lake!

The photo opportunities are endless, and the tour guide was full of knowledge about the area. Shoreline Tours provides lake cruises daily, and can also be hired for private charters and fun excursions!

Stay at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort

Staying at The Harrison Hot Springs Resort was such an amazing treat! The large property is perfectly located with scenic views and walking distance from everything in town, and the resort features five different hot-spring-fed mineral pools for hotel guests only, that are perfect for families and couples alike. Our blogging group stayed in the private yellow cabins. The cabins are surprisingly large, with a bedroom, as well as a pull-out in the living room, a nice big fireplace, and a cozy, rustic feel.

The Woman in Cabin 10My roomie, Carolyn, and I stayed in Cabin 10, and right after we checked in we dug into our goodie bags and put on moisturizing lip masks and ate chocolate-covered strawberries. We joined the other girls and cozied up in the cottage to talk about blogging and social media. It wasn’t until we were leaving for dinner that I made a striking realization about a certain book in our room, ‘The Girl in Cabin 10’. I totally thought the hotel put it there as a joke. But no, my roomie brought it with her to read…. and she didn’t even know we were staying in Cabin 10!… Creepy!

When I come back to Harrison Hot Springs, I’ll be staying at the Resort – the rooms are cozy and quiet, and the hot springs were so relaxing – I slept like a baby that night! There are also a few cafes and restaurants at the resort, including a delicious breakfast buffet with a make-your-own omelette station that can’t be beat!

Where to Eat in Harrison Hot Springs

In a small town, it’s good to know what the gems are! The Harrison Corner Cafe is a beautiful and cozy space where we indulged in the delicious menu for lunch. The food came beautifully plated and was fresh tasting. The cafe was the perfect place to meet each other, and discuss our blogs over yummy bites of food!

For the best pizza in town, we headed over to The Hungry Chef Pizzeria! Boasting craft beers and a made-to-order pizza menu (along with pastas and salads), you want to come hungry because the portions are large (and perfect!) and the food is amazing!

Rejuvenate Yourself in Harrison Hot Springs

I visited Harrison Hot Springs with an amazing group of Vancouver-area bloggers for the #SUPretreat – Connie, Carolyn, Tamara, Heydy, and Jennifer (in order of picture above!) – to rejuvenate ourselves and discuss blogging and social media. Amidst all the ‘shop talk’, we all concluded that it’s so nice to getaway from reality, even just for one night, and typically, as a mom and entrepreneur, you couldn’t really get more than one night away.

It was refreshing to walk the beach on Harrison Lake and take in the gorgeous scenery, but it was also exciting to brainstorm our ideas, and share our knowledge amongst each other. We were empowering each other as mothers and as bloggers to go after what we wanted, to work hard and excel at what we do! And one thing we did was get our picture taken…

We had our photos taken by Vanessa Marie, who was so amazing to work with. Posing for a picture is harder than it looks, and we had a lot of fun trying out some different posing styles! Harrison Hot Springs is the perfect place to visit when you’re looking for a quick 36-hour vacation for a girls weekend, a fun family excursion, or a romantic couples getaway!
