My 10 year old can’t wait for school to be over. Summer is calling and she is ready to go! She’s created a list of all the fun things she’d like to do this summer – on top of the bike camps and other fun activities we have planned!
I have a feeling it’s going to be a busy couple of months… juggling the schedules of the kids and the adults, carpooling, playdates, and all the time spent ‘being bored’ – I know it will sometimes feel overwhelming and chaotic… But being prepared and focusing on the fun and the sunshine will keep me grounded and ready to take this summer on!
Here are some tips on managing the chaos summer can bring:
Turn off the Electronics
No matter the weather, send those kids outside to run around in the backyard and burn off excess energy! No excuses – make an ‘electronic-free’ time in your household and stick to it. Use this time to play with your kids, unwind, or tackle the chores that are building up! Clean all those dirty clothes & remove grass stain your kids drag in with Arm & Hammer™ Cold Water Power Paks, an inexpensive and reliable product that will leave your kids clothes looking as good as new. And if your kids get bored playing outside… have the help out with the chores!
With so many things to do, meal planning may not always be the priority. Pack lots of snacks and water so you’re prepared anywhere you go, from soccer practice, summer camp, and swim lessons! Take L’il Critters™ Gummy Vites™, a complete multivitamin that any kid will love, to ensure your children are getting all of their essential nutrients!
Create a Routine
Summer might mean that things go flying out of whack with the kids out of school, but sticking to a routine helps make your days productive and keep everyone sharp and focused on fun! Create a new routine around your ‘summer schedule’, including the regular ‘get ready for school’ morning routine! Arm & Hammer Kid’s Spinbrush and Orajel Flouride and Flouride-Free Toothpastes that tastes great and comes in popular Kids characters such as My Little Pony, Mario, Spiderman and new PAW Patrol to get them brushing all summer long because mom knows when brushing is fun, it gets done.
Chores Aren’t a Mom’s Job
In my household, I try to get everyone to pitch in with the chores. An extra set of hands around the house during summer can be helpful and will teach your children that it’s not only mom or dad’s job to clean the house – it’s every ones! Ask your kids what they enjoy doing to be a big helper for you – whether it’s setting the table, emptying the dishwasher, or folding clothes. Teach them how to pre-treat stains with OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover Powder so laundry is a breeze!
