canoe lake louise

Canada Day is coming up and we have a ton of fun plans – hiking, canoeing, and having a huge cook-out over a fire. We might watch some fireworks and have some extra treats as well, it’s a celebration after all!

But, while it’s a day of celebration, long car rides and one too many Beaver Tails can leave many Canadians feeling not-so-festive. To help combat some of these ailments, below is a list of trusted, over-the-counter products. The best part? These products are all made in Canada! Cool, eh?

Gravol

If you have a family, you should be including Gravol™ as part of your medicine cabinet arsenal. For children who suffer from car sickness (or too many turns on the merry-go-round), try using GRAVOL™ Kids™ Quick Dissolve ChewablesThese great tasting cherry-flavoured tablets offer the best in convenience and portability, eliminating the need to take with water and are great for the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting and dizziness due to motion sickness. For similar relief in adults, try using Gravol™ Quick Dissolve Chewables in great-tasting zesty orange-flavour.

For adults who prefer organic relief, GRAVOL™ Natural Source™ Ginger Liquid Gel Capsules are a Natural Health Product made with naturally sourced certified organic Ginger (the only medical ingredient) for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting. GRAVOL™ Natural Source™ Ginger Liquid Gel capsules are taste free, easy to swallow, and non-drowsy.

Ovol

Ovol™ helps to relieve one of the most embarrassing (and painful) stomach problems – gas! Ovol™ Ultra Strength Softgels work quickly to break down trapped gas in the stomach and intestines. It helps gas bubbles fuse together making them easier to get rid of through belching or flatulence.

To relieve a baby’s gassy tummy, Ovol Drops provide gentle and fast relief of colic, bloating and gas. The pleasant mint-flavoured drops make them easy for parents to administer.

Diovol

Nothing ruins a great meal more than the discomfort of heartburn, acid indigestion and gas. Diovol™ Liquid Plus Mint and Diovol™ Tablets Plus Tropical Fruit doesn’t stop the body from its naturally producing acid – it reacts to neutralize or buffer existing excess stomach acid.

All of these items are Made in Canada – which is so awesome and amazing! It’s so important to support local companies! This Canada Day, be sure to pick up products to help your family that are made in our beautiful country!

Custom Kids Labels

When my little boy turned 4, he suddenly went from being a toddler on a run bike, to becoming a ‘big boy’ on a ‘big boy bike’, complete with hand brakes in the brightest colour orange. He became a biking pro from the moment he sat on the bike seat and put his little feet to the pedals.

Now with summer right around the corner, I’m super stoked to have him signed up for DFX camp – a summer camp for kids who love mountain biking, based in Whistler. With this being her fourth year enrolled, my daughter is a veteran of the DFX club, but it’s the first year my son will be going to summer camp, and we’re getting him prepped for all the fun he’s going to have! My 10 year old can’t wait for school to be over. Summer is calling and she is ready to go! She’s created a list of all the fun things she’d like to do this summer – on top of the bike camps and other fun activities we have planned!

I have a feeling it’s going to be a busy couple of months… juggling the schedules of the kids and the adults, carpooling, playdates, and all the time spent ‘being bored’ – I know it will sometimes feel overwhelming and chaotic… But being prepared and focusing on the fun and the sunshine will keep me grounded and ready to take this summer on! starbucks

Working late each day doesn’t seem as hard when the sun stays out longer. Spring has definitely arrived here in Vancouver! Waking up before 6am isn’t too bad when the sun is already peeking out – and there’s a 4-shot espresso waiting for me at Starbucks on the way to work!

Have you tried the new Starbucks app feature that allows you to order + pay before you get to Starbucks, and then pick it up without waiting in line? I have to admit, I feel like I’m back in school and butting in line. Everyone seems to be watching as you bypass the order line-up, head straight to the pick up counter, and see your name on a cup that’s waiting for you 🙂 I’m sure I look so smug…! View Post

blackberry

When I was a girl of ten years old, I remember watching my mom taking care of her skin each day. She would tell me to always moisturize the neck, and use night creams to take care of your skin at night. I remember going through her massive collection of skincare products – glass pots with rich creams, bottles with nice smelling lotions, and tiny tubes filled with wrinkle-reducing promises.

As an adult, I am very conscious of taking care of my skin, whether it’s drinking a ton of water, wearing SPF or staying out of the sun when possible, and taking in healthy fats that are essential to keeping your skin looking great. My latest skincare obsession is the Absolutely Ageless™ Collection from Aveeno®! Keeping reading to get a coupon to try it yourself! View Post

The buzzword at my household these days is à la français – that is, let’s try to learn how to say all the things in French, because my tween-aged daughter is heading into French Immersion for the next school year. The requirements for the curriculum include learning the multiplication times tables in French, along with picking up a French-English dictionary and learning basic phrases à la français.

So imagine our surprise when Build-A-Bear came out with a few new additions to the Honey Girls line that are straight out of Paris! Remember last year when I first introduced you to the new Honey Girls line at Build-A-Bear? Well the story continues…

Honey Girls in Paris

Teegan, the leader of the Honey Girls, travels to Paris (ooh la la!) with her mom, and while she’s there she meets up with an old friend, Stella (a fashionista poodle), who introduces her to Misha, a fancy dancing fox. View Post
