Christmas tree decorating isn’t complete without big mugs of mulled cider, hot chocolate topped with marshmallows for the kids, and Christmas music playing in the background. I adore Christmas music, from traditional hymns to a jazzy Winter Wonderland, and electric guitar versions of the New Year Song to ukulele renditions of Frosty the Snowman – I really do love them all!
This year, our Christmas music was played on the Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker, which is small in size and light enough to carry all over the house, but huge in sound! We couldn’t believe the deep bass and the full sound that came out of that tiny little speaker! Here I share with you my favourite Christmas albums and songs!
David Ian’s Vintage Christmas & Vintage Christmas Wonderland are both required listening. The songs are relaxed and swingy, perfect for cocktail parties or just cozying up with a loved one in front of the fireplace.
The Christmas EP by Daniela Andrade is perfect coffee shop music – just a girl with the sweetest voice and her acoustic guitar. A Very She & Him Christmas is one of those anticipated albums that I didn’t love at first, but have fallen in love with over time. Love Zooey Deschanel or not, she has a great old-school voice.
Holidays Rule is a fun-filled and upbeat collection that features artists like Rufus Wainwright, Holly Golightly, The Shins, and Fun. If you’re a Jack Johnson fan, you will love This Warm December, Volumes One and Two, a compilation of Brushfire Records artists.
The Killers releases a new original Christmas single, complete with music video, every single year! Even if you’re not a fan (I’m a huge fan!) you have to give it a listen. I’m sure everybody and their mother already owns the Michael Bublé Christmas Album, but I’m mentioning it anyway! And here are some Christmas songs that you have to give a listen to:
- Dragonette – Merry Xmas (Says Your Text Message)
- Sufjan Stevens – Christmas Woman
- Tracey Thorn – In The Cold, Cold Night
- Coldplay – Christmas Lights
- Mindy Gledhill – Winter Moon
- Fiona Apple – Frosty the Snowman
Listening to all my favourite Christmas music on the Bose SoundLink Mini was such a pleasure. The speaker easily links up to my iPhone using Bluetooth technology, there was no passcode necessary and it never dropped the connection. The size of the speaker is very small, and I love that it’s portable. It has a small charging stand that it sits on, and the battery charge lasts a long time, but it’s easily picked up and moved around the whole house. It’s even great for travel as the charger can be plugged right into the speaker, no charging stand necessary.
To show you how small it is, I lined it up with an iPhone 5S. I love the minimal look of the speaker, it blends right in with its’ surroundings but still provides amazing sound no matter where we place it. Singing along with my favourite holiday tunes was easy and fun with the Bose SoundLink Mini speaker.
Have you put up your tree yet? What are your favourite Christmas songs or albums?
