I’ve been searching for home office inspiration for the past few months, and I’ve collected my favourite photos to share with you. There’s a definite trend emerging from these pictures – a lot of white, black, neutrals, with a bit of sparkle or colour thrown in for interest. We have a spot in our house that’s destined for a desk, a wall that’s about 65″ wide and would perfectly fit a desk between 45″-55″ wide. Above it, instead of a gallery wall, I think I will be going for a more streamlined picture rail – I figure it might be more versatile in keeping art as well as current magazines. I am also considering adding some greenery, a small plant or cactus perhaps, however I have a notorious black thumb when it comes to indoor plants so I’m not sure if it’s the best idea I’ve ever had!

My walls are already white, my floors are concrete, and I’m having a hard time deciding on a desk, but I think for now I’ll go with a practical and inexpensive choice from Ikea. I’m leaning towards a white desk, as the chair I have in mind is silver, and I prefer a monochromatic look.

Do you like these home office styles? I cannot wait until I can put together an office space for myself – for 3 months I’ve been typing on my lap and neglecting my beautiful Mac computer (which I seriously consider a third child, or at least a pet at the very least). I am very excited for the next few coming weeks and seeing how my home office decor comes together!

ps. Looking for more design inspiration? Outdoor spaces, modern kid bedrooms, and a modern family home.

The skull is actually a candle by an Australian company called Insight. They were selling them at Urban Outfitters but it’s sold out now 🙁 Good luck!

I adore the “Love Your Job” garland!

I know! It’s kind of unexpected but a helpful reminder!

Love the inspiration, clean and crisp office space. Can I suggest not using a cacti? In feng shui they are a no-no (prickly, sharp energy). I have had great success with a variety of orchids in our home and office. The Cymbidium variety has beautiful foliage (so it looks lovely when not blooming). Can’t wait to see what you do with the space.

I know I’ve killed a few orchids in the past, but thanks for the advice about the cactus, I’ve gone with a different style plant 🙂
