Holiday Giveaway: Jac&Jil Handmade Goods for the Home

Jac&Jil Logo Holidays

I adore buying handmade things for my home – knowing that someone has taken the time and effort into creating something for my home with their own hands, it makes the items a little more special. Shelley Jacobsen has created a beautiful line of handmade goods for the home with her Etsy shop: Jac & Jil.

Gray Ombre Tea Towels

Gray Ombre Tea Towels

There you will find beautiful pillow cases, tea towels and napkins – made from natural cotton and flour sack fabrics, dip dyed by hand in various colours. There’s something very effortlessly chic about Jac & Jil that I love.

Here Shelley tells us a little bit about herself:

I’ve been an interior decorator & stylist for over 10 years and having a love for all things creative, continually dabbling in all areas of styling, photography and fashion would probably describe me the best.  I grew up in the city, but love living in the beautiful Sea to Sky area of British Columbia.  I mean have you seen our backyard?  It’s a mountain range!  It’s pretty spectacular, and it’s where I get some amazing inspiration.

Describing her shop, Shelley says:

Having a love for vintage & handmade items, with a bit of modern edge I started this textile line of goods because forever searching for the right pillow or linens for my dining table, was not an option, so I started experimenting with flour sacks, which have actually been around since WW1.  The colour possibilities are endless because of the cotton, so it gives me the flexibility to play around with the dyes and come up with new and exciting colours and pieces.  They’re “perfectly imperfect”.

What inspires her work at Jac & Jil Handmade Goods:

I’m definitely inspired by Scandinavian design.  Having lived there for a few years, I began to appreciate the simple, clean, classic looks.  They always get it right.

And Shelley, what’s your favourite thing about Christmas?

It’s all about the nostalgia for me, being able to combine holiday treasures, passed down from family means the most.  I also love including bits of nature from my own backyard and all the beauty that surrounds me.

Shelley has so graciously offered one lucky reader to win a set of light grey tea towels & set of 4 matching napkins (13×13 size). The giveaway is open worldwide! Use the Rafflecopter to enter below!
