We all start our new year’s off with the best of intentions… how are your resolutions doing? I resolved to quit drinking and so far, so good! It’s been 23 days and counting… and I was just hoping that any excess weight on my body would just fall off, as weight is known to do.
I’m no longer getting the calories from alcohol, but I’ve quickly substituted it with pizza and birthday cake. I think focusing on one goal per month might make the most sense for me after all… Since the month is coming to an end, I’m going to slowly transition into my next goal – nutritious eating and being active.
My focus will be on small, attainable changes that will hopefully continue to motivate me to make bigger changes!
- Packing a Lunch – I’ll be focusing on making my own food for lunches and snacks instead of picking something up at a coffee shop.
- Taking the Stairs – everyday I park my car underground and take the elevator up… no more of that, I’ll be taking the stairs instead!
- Taking Vitamins! Ensuring you get the proper amount of nutrients each day helps with weight loss and maintaining an active lifestyle.
- Stay Positive and Laugh a Little (or a lot!) Research shows that humour and laughter strengths your immune system, boosts your energy, and protects you for the damaging effects of stress.
