36 Hours in Harrison Hot Springs

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Harrison Hot Springs for 36 hours – it’s the perfect quick getaway and just about an hour from the city of Vancouver, but it feels like it’s a million miles away! Harrison Hot Springs has been a place I’ve wanted to visit for so long and when the opportunity came along in the form of a blogger retreat hosted by the fabulous Connie with StartUpMoms.co, how could I resist? Watching TV with your kids isn’t always fun, trust me, I’ve been through numerous episodes of Paw Patrol and Larva and Dragons only to tune it out because… well, the kids love it, and I’m glad they enjoy it – but it’s totally not my jam, obviously. So, when we discover a show we can all watch together as a family, I relish it!

Our favourite show on Netflix is Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, the woman who survived 15 years in a bunker and now lives in New York City with her fabulous roommate and a slew of incredibly hilarious characters. The show is hilariously funny, full of double entendres and silly puns, but there’s more than just mindless fluff that makes this a great show to watch with tweens. View Post

Self care is the best care

How often do you take some time to relax and take care of yourself? How often do you spark your inner creativity? Self care and creativity are connected, and when you’re a mom or a creative entrepreneur – or BOTH – it can be hard to find the time to take care of oneself. So, how do you practice self-care when you’re a mompreneur or a creative hustler?

I get bursts of creativity, and they don’t often happen in front of a computer screen when I actually need them the most. Nope, my creativity comes out when I’m far from my office, and I’m out in nature or moving my body. A quick 5-minute walk can set my mind in motion, and usually turns into a 20-minute walk – and the funny thing is that before I go for that walk, I tell myself that I don’t have time for it. I was happy to discover barkTHINS because they satisfy my cravings for dark chocolate with quality Fair Trade and real non-GMO ingredients! barkTHINS are thin pieces of Fair Trade dark chocolate mixed with simple ingredients like toasted coconut, pumpkin seeds, pretzels, and almonds.

Do you think watching television can bring a family together? I do. We don’t watch a ton of TV, we try to limit it to the weekend or a short show during the week, and usually just before bed. It’s a time for us to relax and chill, hang out with each other, laugh together and discuss different things together.

Even when our kids were little babies, it’s so much fun to watch a kids show with them, singing and clapping along with the program. Growing up, I remember watching a lot of movies with my parents and sister, and it was always a ton of fun. From hilarious comedies to action movies or serious dramas, it brought us together and gave us something to talk about!

10 Best Things I Did In Israel

My time in Israel flew by so quickly, but I did so many things in such a short amount of time that I’m still processing my travels, weeks later. It’s not so much that we did so many things that I can’t remember all of them, it’s that every thing we did sparked something in me. It inspired me, comforted me, charged me, it made me crave more, it made me more curious, it motivated me – and how do you put an experience like that into words? View Post
