Whistler Village Beer Festival 2014

There is nothing better than enjoying a cold crisp beer, outside in the sunshine, surrounded by sweeping alpine vistas – without any kids running at your feet!

Mommy needs a break, too! So, call up a babysitter and head to the second annual Whistler Village Beer Festival, taking place from September 11-14th, 2014.

This year’s festival has expanded to four fun-filled days, packed with a variety of events including cask nights, Chef’s dinners, parties, brunches, and even coaster golf! There are also educational seminars such as Beer 101, Craft Beer Revolution, and the History of Beer.

The Whistler Village Beer Festival is the perfect excuse to book a last-minute weekend vacation – Beercation – in the Whistler Village without the kids, and take in some delicious brewery-inspired dishes, craft beers, and live music.

The Main Event

The festival’s signature tasting event takes place outdoors at the Whistler Olympic Plaza on September 13th, from 1-5 pm.

Sample over 150 varieties of beers from more than 60 different breweries located in BC, Canada, and Internationally. Some of my favourites include Red Racer, winner of the 2013 Best in Fest Award, Parallel 49, Whistler Brewing, Pilsner Urquell, Deschutes, and many more.

Tickets are available online at the official Whistler Village Beer Festival website, starting at $35 per ticket. All tickets include a WVBF Novelty Mug for sampling, 5 beer tokens, and a $5 off-site food voucher to enjoy in the village.

For a more luxurious stay, check out the Gold, Platinum & Diamond Accommodation Packages by Gibbons Life.

Last year’s event was a ton of fun, and I’m eagerly looking forward to this year’s bigger and better festival! If you ever needed an excuse to drop the kids off with the grandparents and take off for the weekend – trust me, this is it!

I’ll be at the Whistler Village Beer Festival all weekend long, so if you can’t be there, be sure to follow in the fun on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram!
