Today is Day One to a healthier me.
I’ve embarked on a 90 days journey for my health. Why? What do I hope to achieve at the end of these 90 days? I want to lose weight, of course but that’s not all. I want to feel stronger in my body, I want to keep up with my kids, and I want to be happy with myself. I want to feel healthy.
And I’ve got to start somewhere.
So today is the first of my 90 days to health, and I want to share with you how I’m doing this.
I’ve been working with a life coach for a few months now, Sarah from The Seasonal Diet, and I’m more mentally prepared than ever to make a change. Recently Sarah started a one-on-one coaching called 90 Days to Longevity, and I feel like she created it just for me – to take charge of life in health, work, family, and self. So Sarah will be helping me stay accountable on this journey, as well as pushing me and keeping me motivated.
I’m not going “on a diet”, however our whole family has decided to change our diet and we’re embracing a plant-based lifestyle – that’s right, we’re going vegan. We’re doing a vegan diet for 30 days straight, and then reevaluating our needs and how we’re feeling. Why? Honestly it’s the cheese on pizza factor. But for the next 30 days we’re doing vegan, and then possibly adding cheese occasionally – we will see!
I’m also planning on moving for at least 30 minutes each day, and sometimes more. I got a FitBit last week and was kinda shocked at how little I walk. On a regular, work from home day, I barely get in over 5,000 steps. That’s crazy when I should be getting 10,000 steps!
So I’ll be moving more, eating plant-based, working with a life coach, and I’m looking into getting a personal trainer or starting a new gym – still undecided!
And this is where I start, at 220 lbs, obese by most standards, at the beginning of my 90 days.
