A Foodie Weekend in Seattle

Pike Place Market - Margarita Wyld

Seattle is one of my favourite cities to visit all year round. Being from the PNW, I’m used to the rainy, grey days of the fall and winter, but I often find that when we do visit Seattle, the weather usually cooperates, the sun is shining, and we get to explore the vast city via biking, scooter, Uber, or two feet and a heart beat! While Seattle is a very family-friendly city, it’s also fun to explore the food and beer scene as a couple – parents need to get away too!

KIMPTON PALLADIAN HOTEL | If you love a boutique hotel that feels ultra luxe and makes you feel special, then you will love the Kimpton hotels as much as I do. Each Kimpton hotel is has its’ own unique design, but the excellent service and complimentary happy hour will always be there. The Palladian feels modern with a boho-vintage touch, is in a great, walkable location, and has very comfortable sleeping quarters.

STATESIDE | French + Vietnamese fusion in a trendy and bright space. The charcoal waffles above are offered on their brunch menu.

GENERAL PORPOISE | Delicious doughnuts in one of Renee Erickson’s restaurants.

WILMOTT’S GHOST | Pizza, pasta, delicious focaccia located in the awesome Amazon Spheres.

SPINASSE | A truly Italian restaurant with housemade pasta.

PLUM BISTRO | Delicious vegan food in Capitol Hill.

PIKE PLACE MARKET | It’s on everyone’s list and it’s for a reason. Touristy, but a ton of fun, and a great place to check out local food vendors. The surrounding neighborhood is full of exciting restaurants, events, bars, and even the first Starbucks.

ALKI BEACH | A hop, skip, and a bridge away, heading to West Seattle is a day trip unto itself. Check out the beach, and then head down California Ave to explore restaurants and shops.

BALLARD | Explore the neighborhood south of NW Market – it’s full of vintage shops, heritage buildings, historic bars and restaurants.

UNDERGROUND SEATTLE TOUR | For the history lover, take a tour in the undergrounds of Seattle, walk under city streets and learn about the history of how this city came to be.

TAKE IN A SHOW | There’s always something happening in Seattle! The Paramount Theatre is a good place to check out a new show, but there are tons of theatres and concert halls across the city with bands, plays, and shows to entertain!
